The Measure with which you Measure
“The measure with which you measure will in return be measured out to you." Lk 6:36-38
How do you measure?
Do you tally every penny, every favor, every plea for your resources? Whether or not you plan to receive these things back, do you nevertheless count— and remember?
What about when the requests dig even deeper: when your children need your care when you would prefer to be asleep, when your spouse asks your forgiveness, or when God asks you to trust him well beyond the level at which you are comfortable?
How do you measure?
Do you calculate, or do you give? Do you give begrudgingly, or cheerfully? Do you hold back? Do you give with abandon? Do you expect repayment?
How do you hope your neighbor might respond to your needs?
How do you hope God responds to your prayers?
